Counseling for Children, Teens, Adults and Families
ABOUT LAUREN WOLFE MS, LPC
I’ve had the joy of supporting children, teens, and families as a licensed therapist for more than 20 years! Here’s a little bit about me, how I became a therapist, and how I approach working with my clients.
Growing up, I struggled with anxiety. Back in the '80s, it wasn’t common for kids to get counseling or learn social-emotional skills in school. I didn’t even know what anxiety was until I took a psychology course in college. That’s when I finally found a therapist and began receiving counseling, which sparked my passion for psychology. Looking back, I wish I knew then what I know now about anxiety and how to manage it effectively!
As a young adult, I realized I easily connected with kids and loved working with them. I decided to combine that passion with my interest in psychology to support children, teens and families, and it’s been an incredibly fulfilling journey.
In my counseling practice, I bring my own experience with anxiety and everything I’ve learned over the years to support individuals and families. I’m passionate about helping others because I know how freeing it feels to live without constant anxiety. I like to bring creativity and a sense of fun to the therapeutic process. It inspires me to see my clients taking healthy risks, cultivating more calm and connection in their lives and gaining confidence.
I use a mix of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Response Prevention, Internal Family Systems and Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy. I’ve received advanced training in Emotional Freedom Technique (Also known as EFT or Tapping) and Pain Reprocessing Therapy.
When I’m not working, you’ll catch me on my yoga mat (practicing or teaching), reading a good book, or spending time with my two young adult children. You can also find me on daily walks with my husband and dogs, Luigi and Snoopy who are enthusiastic walkers and squirrel chasers.
Oh, and I also enjoy podcast hosting! In 2022, I launched the podcast Your Zen Friend. This is a show created especially for parents of kids and teens who are navigating the ups and downs of anxiety. It’s packed with helpful tips for reducing anxiety along with support and encouragement for parents. Want to check it out?
